I knew it the second I opened my eyes.

Sleeping with Austin again was a mistake.

The night had been intense, so much heat and feeling, but by morning, all of it felt hollow. He was gone.

The space beside me was cold. No note. No goodbye. Just his scent lingering on the sheets.

Of course he left.

I pulled the blanket tighter around me and stared at the ceiling, feeling stupid for letting it happen. Again.
