I didn’t answer right away. I just stared at him, unsure if I’d heard him right.

After everything that had happened, after leaving me to wake up alone with no message or explanation? I didn’t know what to believe anymore. A part of me wondered if he was playing with me. If this was just some kind of cruel joke.
