John stared at me like he was looking at a monster. His back hit the headboard, chest heaving. He had no snide remarks left. No smug grin. Just wide eyes filled with terror.

“You’re not seeing things,” I said, my voice deep, nearly unrecognizable. “I’m a wolf.”
