Ruby's POV

During that day’s hockey game, Austin’s team dominated the rink, while the other side barely managed to stay upright. Something about the way their players stumbled off the ice sat wrong with me. They looked broken.

Austin skated over, pulling off his helmet. His hair clung damply to his forehead, his chest rising and falling hard. He grinned. “Easy win.”
