I led the werewolf soldiers my mother had mobilized straight to John’s residence. The iron gates were forced open, boots and claws flooding the courtyard in a tight formation. The night smelled like wet stone and anger.

John stormed out onto the steps, fury blazing across his face. “On what grounds do you think you can break into my home and arrest people?” he demanded.
