Sally looked pale when I saw her. Even though she was smiling faintly, I could tell how weak she’d become since the attack.

The nurse helped Sally into a wheelchair and rolled her down the quiet, rune-lined corridor of the hidden spirit hospital. The air was hushed, as if even time moved slower here.
