The ice rink was colder than usual, the air biting at my lungs as I skated another lap. The second hockey match between our Pack and the Full Moon Clan was only days away, and the pressure was closing in fast.

I’d sent someone to deliver a ticket to Ruby earlier. I didn’t even know why. Maybe I wanted her to see me play again, or maybe I just needed to know if she still cared enough to show up. But there was no guarantee she would.
