After the chaos with Sally, the quiet felt almost surreal. The streetlights ahead glowed faintly, leading us past the open hockey rink, its door half ajar and light spilling across the pavement.

I slowed down, glancing at the rink, then at him. “How did you even get there so fast tonight?” I asked. “Don’t tell me you used some kind of werewolf teleportation.”

He gave a small chuckle, shaking his head. “Nothing like that. I was already here. Training.”
