She had only met him a few times when he was young, but his face wasn't so different. She could easily recognize him. .
Now, only by going on that date with the son of that bastard would her father get off her back.
"Did Gavin suggest this?"
"What does that have to do with anything?"
She was sure it was Gavin's idea.
She had never spoken to Henry so she didn't know the kind of person he was.
He was either a good person or a scum like his father. She earnestly hoped it wasn't the latter.
"I'll go. You already promised. Don't even think of breaking it"
She walked out and slammed the door shut.
********
She entered the restaurant where a waitress led her to the VIP room where Henry was waiting. She was right on time.
Cressida forced a smile.
"Hello"
They shook hands.
"I'm Henry"
"Cressida"
He nodded. "I know your name. Your father speaks a lot about you"
She had no interest in knowing what it was about. She just wanted to get this done and over with.
He was not very handsome. He was average at best, but his nose wasn't crooked like his father's.
"I heard you just graduated"
"It's seems you know somethings about me"
It wasn't surprising. His father was a friend to hers.
He laughed lightly. "You will be surprised I know quite a lot about you"
"Would you like to order anything?"
"I..."
"It's okay if you don't know what to order for now. Would you like a glass of red wine?"
She nodded. He called the waiter and asked for a bottle of red wine.
He turned later and gave them each a glass. He made a toast to her and they clinked their glasses.
She took a sip and put the glass down.
"I heard your blind date was murdered"
She pursed her lips. She didn't need a sage to tell her who the source of the information was. Her father must have told Gavin so Henry most probably heard it from him.
"Unfortunately yes. I was wrongfully accused of.... killing him" she stuttered. Something was right. Her body suddenly felt hot, and her head felt heavy.
She was definitely not drunk, she only had a sip.......she looked up at him and found him staring at her with a smile.
"You drugged me?"
He replied with an even wider smile. She was becoming dizzy.
"You are no different from your father. You are..... beasts"
She said, her face turning red.
The door opened and Gavin entered. He pat Henry on the back.
"Good job son. Keep watch outside"
"Both of you were in this together?"
"What do you think?"
Gavin replied after Henry left. She was slowly losing her consciousness.
He walked towards her in slow steps.
"Do you know how long I have waited to hold you again?" he stroke her hair and she swatted it with the little strength left in her. ".....to touch you"
The look on his face made her skin crawl.
She tried to stand up, but her leg had turned number. She guessed the drug was an aphrodisiac, a strong one at that.
He caressed her skin and brought his mouth closed to her face. The disgust she felt gave her a little amount of strength. She punched him across the face, pushed him away and stood up, holding the armrest. But soon, she fell on the floor. The hotness in her body had turned worse.
Gavin stood up leisurely. "You can't run from me pretty"
He unhooked his belt and was in the process of unzipping when do door was pushed open.
"What the hell —" the remaining words were cut off by a sharp blow to his fat cheek. He hit the ground heavily.
Kevin grabbed his collar and dragged him up, pummeling him to stupor.
"You fucking son of a bitch" he punctuated each words with a strong blow that one of Gavin's teeth fell off.
"You are worse than a dog, you bastard!" He spat on his face.
Gavin found it difficult to even groan in pain. Kevin was not satisfied, but Cressida was on the floor, unmoving, so he let him go….for now.
He carried her out of there.
Her eyes opened a little, but her vision was blurry. "Why did... you come here?" She asked, barely audible.
He kept silent, and walked to the car.
Henry had gone to the restroom for a few minutes. When he returned. The door was open. He went in and met his father in a battered state.
When Cressida woke up at the hospital, Amy was by her side.
"Thank goodness you're awake"
"How did you....."
"Kevin sent me a text saying you were at the hospital"
She remembered seeing him last night. He was hitting Gavin, but she didn't have the strength to stop him. She wondered how he knew where she was and why he saved her. They were not even close.
"Where is he now?"
"I don't know. He had already left when I got here. The doctor said they found aphrodisiac in your system. What happened?"
"My blind date drugged me" she decided not to go into the details. Amy didn't know who Gavin was and what he did to her, and it was better it stayed that way.
"I think I'm fine now. I should learn. I have things to do"
She got down from the bed without giving Amy a chance to stop her.
She arrived at the house and was thankful her dad wasn't home. She paused at her door and after think for a while she left her door and went towards Kevin's room. His was down the hallway, and it was funny how she had never stepped into his room before. She had no idea what it looked like.
She thought twice before knocking.
"Yes"
She entered his room where he was seated on the couch, playing video games with his headphones on.
"How may I help you?" He asked casually, his eyes still on the game.
"I came to say thank you"
"For what? I'm lost here"
She knew he was playing dumb.
"You saved me last night"
"Me? Are you sure you didn't hit your head against something?" She glared at him, but he wasn't even looking at her.
"I know you are aware of what I'm talking about" he was about to deny it again, but she stopped him. "Amy told me you informed her that I was in the hospital"
He went silent for a while.
"So what?"
"How did you know where I was?"
"I followed you"
"Why?"
"I overheard Dad telling you to go on a date with that scumbag's son"
Kevin barely had any dealings with Gavin. When he came by the house, he treated him like air.
"I thought he might be no different from his father"
"What are you talking about?"
"I knew what Gavin does to you the nights he came to visit when we were young. I saw everything"
