Aurora’s POV

Lenora walked beside me down the short hallway. The soft carpet muffled our steps until we reached the bathroom threshold.

My slippers made a faint scuffing sound against the cool tile, the sudden change making me flinch slightly.

She reached past me, turned the silver handle, and pushed the door open. The hinges gave a low squeak.

Bright overhead light spilled across the room, showing pale tiles lined neatly from floor to ceiling. The scent of fresh soap drifted in.
