The Shadow Clan attacked the Silver Moon Wolf Clan three days after they'd retreated from Red Moon territory.

The message came through Beta John in the middle of the night. His face was grim as he burst into our room.

"Silver Moon is under attack," he said. "The Shadow Clan. Dozens of them. They're overwhelming the defenses."

Gray was already out of bed, pulling on clothes.

"How bad?" he asked.

"Bad," John said. "Keith sent a distress call to the King. They're losing ground fast."
