Aurora’s POV

Blue’s warning still rang in my head.

I stood just inside my door, hand on the frame, heart steady but alert.

Hide, I told Blue. Stay back in my mind. Pretend you are asleep.

Blue growled softly inside me but obeyed. I felt her presence slip deeper, her scent folding into the background.

I took one slow breath, relaxed my shoulders on purpose, and stepped outside like I did not sense anything.
