Gray’s POV

The first thing I felt was pain.

A deep, bone-heavy ache that pulsed through every nerve, as though I had been run through by fire. Then came the smell of mold, rust, and something worse.

I opened my eyes slowly.

The world swam in and out of focus. I was in a dark, narrow room, like a cell. The air was thick and wet, dripping with the scent of decay.

The stone walls were slick with moisture, and somewhere nearby, water dripped in an endless rhythm.
