Aurora’s POV

For a moment after Alpha Gray’s words, silence settled over the room.

Elise froze, her smile still pinned in place, though the light behind it flickered. Her hand dropped slowly from Ryan’s arm. I could see the crack in her pride.

She glanced at Gray, waiting for some sign of jealousy, some hint that his composure was an act. But he didn’t move. He only stood beside me calmly. Her little scene with Ryan meant nothing at all.
