“Saint Aurora,” she said, her voice tight but sincere. “What happened today was my failure. Zaia is a citizen under my jurisdiction. I did not discipline her properly.”

“I don’t care about apologies,” Aurora said evenly. “But if this happens again, if anyone under your pack disrespects me or interferes with our mission, I won’t be this patient.”
