The echo of Blue’s roar still lingered long after the sound itself had faded.

It had rolled through every wall, every floorboard of the coven, a sound too primal to belong to this world.

Silence followed, heavy and uncertain.

Then the phone on the table buzzed sharply, cutting through the tension.
