Chapter 2

Summer's POV

“Summer?” Ashton called my name, pulling away from Freya in shock, his eyes widened in terror like he had any right to be horrified. “It’s a..”

“What the hell are you doing here? Get the hell out of here.” Freya barked, her eyes filled with fury as they burned into mine. Fear crippled me, my heart was racing and my mind unable to think of a rational decision out of this. Before I knew it, Ashton was walking towards me.

“There’s no reason to be mad Summer, I was just having a little fun, no strings attached.” He explained, the guilty expression on his face now worn off.

“What are you talking about?” Tears were beginning to form in my eyes but they didn’t dare fall, I couldn’t give him that satisfaction.

“Oh please Ashton, is there any reason to lie to her?” Freya walked towards us, leaning her head on Ashton’s shoulders. “We’ve been together since the break.”

What?

I found it hard to believe, I stared at Ashton, hoping he was going to deny it, at least for by his moment, give me hope that he still wanted me and this was only a mistake. “What? Are you waiting for me to deny it?” He burst out laughing, as well as the others in the room, most were his team mates, some of Freya’s friends and some other bunch of kids.

I felt a sting in my chest, was this the taste of betrayal? I could hardly breath. “Why?” I asked quietly.

“Why? You dare ask why?” Freya scoffed.

“Last I checked, you were Trey’s girlfriend…”

“I was until we broke up.” Sje interupted, poking my chest with her slender perfectly cuticled finger. “Now get the hell out of here before I make you.”

Ignoring her I stared up at Ashton, I didn’t want this to be true. “Tell me you’re lying.” My voice broke, the tears I had been holding back slipping out. “I-it’s our anniversary, why?”

“You’re a worm, quit stressing me out and fuck off! If not for the bet I made with my guys, I wouldn’t even look your way!” He shot back at me, the perfectly calm boyfriend I once knew had now dissappeated, teplaced with a monster, his eyes blazing furiously. “You’re a useless omega and I don’t want the likes of you!” He banged the door in my face, leaving me in an eery silence.

My wolf whimpered I’m despair, why was my life full of misery? My bad luck had begun since my fathers fatal accident while we were on our way back home, I had continued to pester him until he lost his concentration while driving and had an accident.

The pack members and my mom saw me as a curse and made my life hell, chewing my lower lip, I tried to steady my breathing. Tears were still rolling down my cheeks and my vision blurrred, I thought about texting Aubrey but I was certain she wouldn’t be with her phone and would be wrapped up in bed with her boyfriend.

I couldn’t bear this pain anymore, I clenched my shirt trying to soothe myself, now that we were broken up, my life would certainly be some worse than before, the bullying was set to double, I can’t face that again, I would rather leave then let that happen. Walking my way to the roof, treats looting down my cheeks, there was no point sticking around, neglected by my very own mother for causing the death of her mate, hated by the whole pack and a laughing stock at my school and now the one reason I was very happy and fulfilled was taken away from me.

The music from below was still blaring loudly, I cpjdl still hear screams of excitement from them, no one knew how much despair I was in. Staring at the height difference dainted my fear. I moved to the edge, sighing deeply, taking one final look at the sky, I lenses forward, letting the night air slap my face.

I felt myself falling and suddenly stopped, arching my brows I flashed my eyes open, staring down I was dangling in the air before being pulled up.

Falling to the hard floor, I winced in pain, glaring up at the person but fear immediately replaced my anger. Standing before me was Trey, his eyes burned with visible anger. “Just what the hell are you thinking?” He snarled furiously.

“It shouldn’t be of concern to you if I want to waste my life.” I retorted, no fear, just pure hopelessness, I had given up on everything.

“Don’t tell me you’re so defeated because a punk cheated on you, you’re seriously given them more reason to see you as pathetic.” He scoffed, gazing down at me, I remained still on the floor wondering why him of all people cared if I wanted to end my life or not.

“If you’re here to mock me, get over with it.” I mumbled quietly, moving my gaze to the floor. He squatted beside me, his hands gently lifting my chin up, I felt how hard and rough his hands were and having him this close to me, I could smell his leatherwood cologne.

“Well cupcake I have a better proposal”

Cupcake? Proposal?

Furrowing my brows, I couldn’t hide my confusion. “W-what do you mean?” I stuttered, trying to steady my breathing.

A smirk trailed on his lips. “Why don’t you become my fave girlfriend?”

What? I shot him a bewildered glance. “Y-your g-girlfriend?” I stuttered, my heart racing like I was going to have a heart attack.

“Yes, I need to teach a certain someone a lesson and you could make that punk look like a fool.” He shrugged, as much as the idea seems appealing to him, I didn’t buy it, I didn’t want any part in it. Getting up to my feet, I looked at anywhere but him.

“I-I don’t think I can do it.” My voice quivered.

“Don’t be a boring patootie.”

Me? Patootie? I slowly mustered the courage to look up at him, his cold glare he always held had dissappeated, exchanged with a smirk. “I’ll make it worth your while, after which you can go ahead and jump.” He took a peek and the height and sighed. “Probably get paralysed all your life.”

The thought of that eternal torture didn’t sit well with me, gulping nervously, I ticked behind my lose hair. “I-I don’t want to be a part of your revenge scheme.” I blurted out.

“I’m helping you.” He tetorted.

“You’re trying to use me.” I defended wondering where I had gotten my courage from.

“Same as you if you agree, it’s mutual.” He shrugged. “Although we are going to make it more natural.”

“More natural?” I cocked my head in confusion.

“Yes, act like we are in a real relationship? Kiss and cuddle?”

“Kiss?”

“Do you expect us to walk about like sticks and look like we are actually deceiving ourselves?”

He’s right but-

“I’m want a positive answer.” He leaned closer. “Keep in mind I don’t take rejection nicely.” His tone was threatening and i could feel my skin tingle in fear. “Do you agree to be my fake girlfriend?”

If o couldn’t reject him, then I make a run for it, I darted as fast as I could towards the door but he pulled me back wotjout moving his body, his eyes burning into mine. “Answer?”

I could feel my body heat rising, fear dancing in me. I blurted out the only word I could think of.

“Yes!”
