"She's been released?" The question was a low growl that barely filled the room, yet it felt like a gunshot. My grip on the phone corded my knuckles white.

"Yes, and everything has been settled." Elena's voice was calm, a sharp contrast to the tremor in my chest.

"And her trucks...?"

"They have been returned to her."
