Ever since we left the incomplete building, Luciana hadn’t said a word to me. It felt like she was angry, and that silence was driving me insane. I walked up to her room, standing still at the entrance, unsure of what to do.

I had to clear whatever was between us; I couldn’t withstand her silence. It was surprising how much I had changed, feeling like a stranger to myself compared to who I was before.
