Gael's POV

I couldn't endure the sight of Elena walking away. The last time she did, it left a deep, agonizing hole in my chest—a scar I still carried, raw and unhealed. I closed the distance instantly, my hand shooting out, clamping firmly around her wrist. The thought of letting her go again was a cold, sharp stab of pain.
