Michael’s jaw nearly dropped to the floor. His eyes darted between Romano and me, confusion simmering in their depths, before finally settling on my face.

"Something wrong?" Romano demanded, looking between us before snatching the tray from Michael’s hands. He moved to shut the door, but Michael blocked it with a hand, his gaze still glued to me.
