“A misunderstanding?” I said through clenched teeth, the blade of my sword pressed on his neck.

Ray’s eyes trembled as he sucked in the cold air. His lips moved and he said, “Weren’t those your orders—to fish out information from her? You gave me permission to torture her until she spilled out everything she knows about the letter.”

His eyes drifted away from me and settled wearily on the sword. “B-but why is your sword at my neck, Alpha Nyxion?”
