“Knock knock.” Aeron’s voice sounded outside the door, and I turned my head away from the maids massaging my legs in warm water.

“Come in, the door is open,” I said. The knob twisted, and his head appeared through the opening. His eyes swept across the room lazily, but the moment his gaze landed on me, the smile on his lips vanished.
