Questioning The Suspect
"Isn't he?" Jorin asked, opening his mouth wide in amazement.
"I don't think they look so similar to this. Even this hat on this head is tattered, or what do you say? Any resemblance?" Hagel retorted, dangling rhetorical questions round Jorin's reasoning.
Jorin switched to the captured and suspected robber and asked him, "but don't you know it is time for the Contra Sangues to be out?"
"Well, I have no idea of what you're saying, or are you asking me that?" the suspect replied so rudely.
"Do you even have the guts to give such a dense response? Do you know you're talking with the..." Jorin angrily started to say, trying to caution and scold him at the same time, so Hagel himself came in suddenly.
"The Night Contra Sangue?!" He added.
When the suspected robber discovered they were both saying the truth, that they were actually Contra Sangues, he raised his head with remorse boldly written on his sullen face, and prostrated shyly;
"I'm so sorry, perhaps because I have been on drugs..." he pleaded, but then Jorin interrupted him.
"Drugs? Hard or soft drugs? Are you trying to sound funny here?" He questioned the man on his half knees.
"Sorry for that... I meant hard drugs" the captured gentleman pleaded.
"Hard what?!" Hagel exclaimed in question, twisting the brows of his face and moving closer to him.
"You said hard drugs, right?" Jorin asked the man again.
"You... guys... I think... don't like liars..." the suspect blabbered.
"So, what does that mean?" Jorin asked, touching his ears hard.
"Can you free me and let me go?" the man requested politely.
"What's the difference between the two?" Hagel, the Night Contra Sangue questioned him, almost willing to give him his request.
"Freeing me would mean letting me speak my mind, and letting me go would mean giving me a way out of this dark environment, sirs..." the suspect explained intelligently.
"This guy is making a lot of sense..." Jorin said.
"Maybe, I was thinking so, too... But, can we free him though?" Hagel added and asked, staring at the suspect pitifully.
"Can he help?" Jorin asked Hagel.
"Stand on your feet!" Hagel commanded.
"I am so grateful, sire..." the suspect said, standing so fast.
"Come with me into the room. Don't bother about going home... you will be released years from now, man! Congratulations..." Hagel instructed, his words complex.
"Years from now..." the man reiterated that word.
"Yes, that means you've been successfully recruited as an assistant here!” Jorin explained, staring at the suspect. “That's the dream of all city armed monsters, isn't it?"
"Recruited as a Contra Sangue?" The pitiful suspect asked, to confirm what he had heard.
"Anyhow… At least you are now part of the people who can freely walk through the night, without fear of attacks!” Hagel responded, his voice deep and cracking. “Instead of being caught like a fish, you'll be catching fish for us..."
"It's even fish... fish of different kinds," Jorin added.
"Fishes aren't hard to catch for me, honestly!" The suspected robber exclaimed, trying to encourage the two Contra Sangues.
"That's good news!" Hagel remarked, smiling.
Happily, the three of them entered Hagel's private room. As they sat on the chairs, noises rushed in;
"Hehehe!" the noises pierced the room.
"What is that?" The suspect asked, scared of who could be out for him.
"It might be Acquilles," Jorin suggested.
"Just leave that... Give me a document to fill, now!" Hagel ordered, raising his legs over his chair, which looked like a throne.
"Man, what's your name?" Jorin asked the suspect.
"I am Tycus Gillinoth by name..." the suspect replied, his eyes blinking repeatedly.
"Gillinoth?" Hagel asked, putting his legs down immediately. He moved to the man's chair and tapped him, asking, "Are you the son of the same Gillinoth?"
"Yes... It is indeed me, Tycus De Gillinoth…” Tycus explained, but was interrupted by the amazed Jorin. “I was the one who separated the two soldiers last year…”
"Tycus De Gillinoth?” Hagel asked in full amazement Tycus who settled the argument in just hours?"
"Yes, I am the same Tycus, sir!" Tycus replied rather eagerly. He became elated, at least that he was being recognized—also known to be a good person.
"You're not a vampire, so what were you doing around this late?" Jorin asked him. “What are you out for?”
"I actually wanted to see someone nearby..." he started to explain, but then Acquilles, the eagle came into the room.
"Eww…! It's time you rushed out, Peeps! Those night children are around now..." the eagle warned. “They are here.!”
"Night children? Jorin! Let's get out of here!" Hagel commanded, also rushing out and holding Tycus's hand at his back. “Just open that door immediately!”
When they got outside, Tycus sighted a man at the doorstep hiding in between the inner glass door and the metal door, so he raised his voice.
"Here is a vampire!"
"Which side, Tycus? Tell us! Where is he?" Jorin asked him, immediately holding his gun tight and was about touching the trigger.
When Hagel also noticed the vampire, he held his own trigger fast and fired three consecutive bullets at him, not letting him have a gasp of breath.
As he tried to rest by a sidewall, Tycus captured him by his hem and slapped him twice, dashing him to the ground, weak as anything.
"Now, you're down! What's your effort paying you?" Hagel asked him, again pointing his gun at his already wounded chest.
"I wonder why this man is this smart..." Jorin said.
"Well, he is not as smart as the grey haired gentlemen, I mean the ones who appear later than this" Tycus suggested.
"Truly, he's not that smart! Well, this one is down today because of his unwillingness to surrender to us!" Hagel shouted, glaring at the other two and expecting a response of loyalty. “He is down. You two, just let him know he truly is…”
"He's down today!" Jorin shouted back in an agreeing response.
"He is down!" Tycus followed, looking shy as before.
"So, what do you think about what to do?" Hagel asked them.
"Sir, you mean?" Tycus asked politely, thinking the Night Contra Sangue meant to bury the captured vampire.
"Do you mean we should take him into the furnace?" Jorin asked.
"No!" Hagel exclaimed, his face burning with fury.
"Maybe we should carry him out of here?" Tycus suggested, moving his legs away fearfully.
"Is that it..?" Jorin asked to know.
"Master might mean another thing, Mr Jorin!" Tycus suggested again.
"Head of the Night Contra Sangues, we request for the meaning of your commands now..." Jorin asked of Hagel.
"Okay! What I meant was... take him out of here and prepare him as a soup... for..." Hagel answered, his words a mutter. “Just capture him!”
But then, Jorin knew well and understood where he was going.
Then, Jorin added, "...Acquilles!"
When the eagle heard his name from afar and saw who did so, he hurriedly flew down and was heading toward Jorin's head to sit on.
"Ooh..." Acquilles sounded.
