Anise
The world stopped for a moment as we stared at ourselves, no words to say, and I fluttered my eyes to snap back to reality again.
"You're mistaken, Daven, if this is a trick to make me stay, then it's not working. Kill those fantasies about us being things", I reprimanded and stood upright.
"And I have rules to anise" he furthered, not minding my reaction.
"Stop this madness daven!" I snarl, growing scared.
Just to keep my mind off him, I squatted to pick up my shoes, but he had also squatted too and held my hand together right the toe I managed to grab.
My hair stood up as I found myself staring at his cold gaze that didn't break.
"Except if you're willing to pay the trillion you now own me" he stated, and I was astonished.
"What are you talking about?" I whispered beneath my voice and he scoffed. Did he just say a trillion?
"Perhaps you should read the paper for yourself and know the deal you've gotten yourself into"
I covered my mouth with my palms so startled to rise from the position I was.
"I don't believe a word you say, that's not stopping me from leaving!" I brawled, stood up and sneaked my way out of the walk-in closet.
My box was on the bed and I stuffed my clothes inside with the few shoes I could gather and once I was done, I zipped up the box and rolled it out of the room.
I didn't look back or stare in his direction even though he was not leaning on the door frame.
"You can't leave..."
"Yes I am, and you're not stopping me!" I spat, feeling weary already. He was still in the same position, crossed arms and a cold gaze that dragged me from head to toe.
"You'd wake up and realize all this was hopeless after all", I concluded with a fierce look at him before dragging my luggage outside.
I should carry Becky along, but if I stayed one second there, I'd end up not leaving.
However, I can't leave her. Fortunately, she was strolling out of the room which was adjacent to mine.
I saw her making a call which she quickly terminated and gave me a queer smile as though hiding something from me.
However, I shun any form of absurd sign from her, it's just Becky.
"Hey anise..."
"We're leaving!" I announced and she ducked her head at me. Her eyes squinted as she stood in horror, trying to understand the words I had just said.
"So soon? We haven't even spent a day. I thought you say you were cool with it..."
"I'd explain later, grab your things" I retorted, and then threw my gaze behind me to see if Daven was coming along.
She couldn't argue after all, she was just here for me.
"And don't ask any questions until we are out" I added, wheezing out air from my mouth.
Where I stood, I was impatient, praying so hard that Daven didn't appear now.
"Yes, Ms pregnant, your hormones are kicking now", she mused, vanished to her room and in a few minutes went out with her luggage.
"Hurry, can we get a driver at this hour?" I asked, having no idea what the time was.
She gave me no reply and quickly placed a call as she discussed with whosoever it was. We were pacing fast towards the gates, but there were three security agents on standby not giving us a chance to cross the gate.
They were so huge and intimidating that it seemed as though they could crush us with just a hand.
"You can't keep me here, so talk to your damn boss that all this won't work!" I barked and Becky informed me she had gotten a driver, and he'd be there in 30 minutes.
That was quick, and how did she pull the trick at this late hour? I grew frustrated as I tried to reason with them to let me out.
"I'm sorry ma'am, but we're just doing our job"
"Becky help me out here!" I mused, but she only shrugged her shoulders at me.
"I don't want to leave, I'm just being your emotional support" she said between her teeth, worsening the situation.
She yawned and sat in her box, anticipating the scene before her like a spectator.
I grewled and turned to my heels. And annoyingly, I shifted my gaze to the mansion, only to find Daven by the balcony. His hands held the rail, his eyes sparked, and I drew in a long breath.
We stared at each other like nothing else matters.
He suddenly nodded and disappeared out of sight.
"You may leave now" one of the security agents announced, drawing my attention to the gate.
I faced them with a frown as the exit gate automatically rolled over for us to get out.
I took a glimpse at Becky and then dashed out. It's her choice if she wants to stay.
Becky kissed her teeth, stood up and began to run after me.
Just as she had announced, a car was right outside the gate in 30 minutes.
Hastily, we placed our luggage inside the trunk and then moved to sit in the back wing of the car.
"See to it that we board a flight somewhere else. I just want to be out of here."
Her eyes lingered on my face, she said nothing and nodded. Before the driver ignited the car's engine to drive, I took one last glance at the mansion.
The driver rode us away. My mind was void of thoughts and I didn't look at Becky because tons of questions were held up in her chest.
We'll leave for Paris tomorrow at noon. "We just have to stay in a suite which belongs to a friend," she whispered in a grumpy tone.
She looked like a princess in distress and I have stressed her a lot for today. However, she just keeps taking me by surprise.
The fact that she knows people in London and just one call can take us anywhere we want to be.
