Anise
I was glued to a spot as my nipples hardened by just watching him wipe his hair.
"What are you doing here?"
His cold voice sent chills running down my spine. I look like the one chasing after him, not the other way around.
"I-I lost my way", I responded on a pitch too trying so hard to focus and not melt away.
He arched his brows at me, abandoning the face towel on his hair like a scarf, and then paced closer to me.
"You didn't...you came right, straight to me"
A thousand thoughts ran in my mind with those lines he said. Possibly, he might pin me to a wall, slam his lips on mine, and then we'd land on the bed.
I kept moving back until I slammed my back on the drawer behind the handle pressed again.
He was close now. I could feel his cold body even though only two to three steps kept us away.
I scoffed unbelievably while clutching a fistful of my gown.
"Why would I? "I was curious to know what you were hiding, a clue to hand you over to the police and break free from you." I was uncertain of the words to say, but I just hoped that would make him believe that I'd never trust him.
"Are you sure about that kitten?" He asked, his eyes darkening at me. I was speechless and only my lips part.
"I'm leaving Wolf" I snarl, still standing and unable to lift a leg.
He moved aside for me to walk past him, but then I noticed a scratch on his shoulder.
It seemed like a fresh bruise and had a stripe of blood stain on it. He wouldn't tell me.
I moved away from him and walked to the door, but I was concerned about the bruise.
I turned to face him but his toned back was all I could see, and his hair settled on his shoulders.
Damn, he had a dragon tattoo on his back, and it looked so attractive that I just wanted to touch it, but self-control is the best.
"You were away for a month daven" I began, but he suddenly took off his towel. My eyes went straight to his plump ass and I gasped loudly.
His thick, powerful thighs were pointed inwardly and not a sound was made by us.
"If you're staying here, it is definitely to see me naked, so enjoy the view."
He said dryly and almost turned around, but I looked away, screaming in my heart and running out.
I closed my eyes, trying to regain my breath. I've seen naked men, but I wasn't prepared for daven.
He was just on a whole different level. Did he really go naked for me to watch?
I just realized I was still in his room and worse, still sitting on his bed.
And...he is out now, wearing a boxer.
A smirk escaped his lips as I quickly jerked up from where I sat.
"Who is running after who now anise?" He whispers and then crawls on the bed.
I eyed him, pissed off by walking inside here and seeming pathetic.
Hastily, I almost moved a step further, but then his strong arm grappled with my wrist and made me fall to bed.
My body swirled over to his side and my palms got plastered on his torso. I was breathing so hard, it was obvious and killing me at the same time.
Our eyes locked, and I was so frightened to death. I walked into this temptation myself.
"Once you're here, I'm not letting you go until it's dawn"
"Daven"
"Kitten"
He responded by facing me properly, his arm went around my waist, pinning me to his body and our heartbeat synced.
I was restless, but it seemed he was enjoying every bit of this.
"Sleep anise, you have a long day tomorrow" he pointed out, but my heart kept thudding as though it would rip out of my chest.
I can't, not with him this close. He shut his eyes, and then used his one hand to push my head closer to his chest.
I couldn't breathe as my hands were on his chest. My eyes were widely awake, and I had no idea when they would be closed.
The noise alarm rang in fury and I juddered up from where I lay. My heavy eyes spurred open as I gasped softly.
The sunray was resting on my head and I whimpered, struggling to rise from the bed.
On me was a blanket, and there was no trace of daven here, which seems like a relief.
I fluttered my eyes fluttered, trying to crawl out of bed, but the sweet savor of morning breakfast hit my nose, and I was tempted to lay back in bed.
I found freshly baked bread and green tea beside the lamp stand. If only Dante had treated me this way.
With annoyance, I refused to touch a thing and only walked out of the room.
Scurrying down the stairs, he was the first thing I saw.
Daven all dressed up with his secretary behind him. He was heading for the exit door.
Possibly he'd be gone for a week, judging from the luggage he had with him.
I stood by the last step of the stairway, staring at him. He was backing me, but I knew he noticed I was there.
"You should get to work early, not because we're related. "You believe you have immunity," he muttered in a cold tone like the boss he is.
I gave no response and just intended to pace to the dining room, but then he turned his eyes to look at me.
My heart stopped again and every breath in me escaped.
"You aren't ready yet?" he scolded, furrowing his brows at me, and I was speechless.
"I'll be in an hour. "I promise it won't repeat itself again," I added. That's if he doesn't make me lie to him next time.
"What? "Didn't you get the message?" he added in a more serious tone as he let out a sigh.
I shook my head, dumb over what he was trying to explain.
"We are going to Singapore on a business trip" he declared, and I was taken aback. He didn't mention it except now, and so I wasn't at fault.
"What? "I have no idea, and you're just telling me" I defended, looking puzzled and stressed out that morning.
"If you weren't all sleepy last night, you would have heard me saying that to you."
I scoffed unbelievably, annoyed by his words and I just walked out on him, feeling tired and weary.
I had to wash up quickly to meet up to his time and in a few minutes, I arrived downstairs with a T-shirt and baggy pants.
At the sight of me, his jaw dropped, and he ran his fingers in his hair, his eyes scrolling around my face.
His secretary thinned his lips as he threw his face away from me. Maybe they are falling in love.
"Anise!" He yelled in a way that didn't seem like he was raising his voice, but he was definitely pissed off.
I was startled, holding firmly to my shopping bag and staring at him with a dull face.
"It's a fucking meeting, not a stroll around the street"
"This is all I got" I countered, pulling a frown and crossing my arms.
I could hear a loud yawn behind me, it was coming from Becky, who had just woken certainly because of the banter daven was creating.
She was climbing down the stairs, her eyes partly open.
"What's happening, Anise?" She asked, standing beside me and then saluted daven who ignored her.
His eyes were heavy on me as I felt I'd melt under his stare.
"You can just take someone else" i suggested, fluttering my eyes and swallowing hard.
He placed his hands in his pocket and drew his face closer to me. None of us were willing to answer Becky yet.
"You know what, just get in the car, a little shopping would do the trick" he concluded, turned to his heels and stormed outside.
I intended to follow him when Becky held my hand, staring at me with a serious face.
"Are you going to the grocery shop or what?" She asked, and I shrugged her hand away, explaining it was a business trip, and we might be back in a week.
"Can I come along?" She suddenly asked with pleading eyes and I swallowed hard.
She might be all alone in the big mansion with no one and, judging from the fact that she follows me all around to keep me company, she's more than welcome to come.
"Yes"
"No"
That was Daven's reply when I proposed Becky should come along. She was still inside getting dressed.
"But she's my secretary"
"How well do you trust her? What if she's..."
"I trust her more than you. "I still don't know your aim of bringing me here, but I'd get to the root of it", I brawl glaring at him.
He was quiet and almost said another word when Becky rushed down to us. She looked beautiful, dressed up as though she was going on a date.
Daven heaved, took a glimpse at her and then me.
"Just get inside the car"
I let out a smile, excited that Becky would be coming along. He bounced towards a BMW X7 in the garage.
His secretary had taken the driver's seat and Daven joined him in the front seat while the ladies sat in the back seats.
If there's a reason I am coming for this trip, it is to take my mind off Dante.
It's just a trip. What could possibly go wrong on a business trip? I was wrong, something went awry.
