The old woman’s attitude had me feeling utterly flabbergasted as I stood there, my mouth gaping open and then shutting on its own like a goldfish on autopilot.

She stared at me with a disappointed look and I don't know why but I lowered my head like a guilty child. It was safe to say that no one, in my entire life, had ever scolded me the way that this woman had just done. So it was safe to say that I had no idea how to react at that moment.
