Hazel’s face dropped as Axel refused to touch her.

She watched as he stood up from the bed. Her hand held his wrist and she yanked him further but he didn't move a bit.

“Are you really asking me to go to bed now, Daddy?”

Axel stared at her hand on his wrist and he pulled his hands off hers gently.

He took a seat on the bed and cupped her cheeks into his hands.
