She turned back in anger to see Axel standing behind her. Time seemed to had frozen, the drops of water that were falling from a guest’s cup was suspended in the air, everyone was in a statue-like position, even the wind froze. The garden was still. The music stopped. The birds in the air had paused mid-flight. Time had stopped, holding the moment like a breath that never ends. Axel had frozen time, Ariel's eyes widened in surprise. Marie was telling the truth all along, he was a god. She could feel his anger from his glare, he was mad about something, she didn't know what yet. He snapped his finger and time unfroze. Ariel watched the proceedings in confusion. Everything and everyone reverted back to how they were before she crashed the wedding.
“You're very smart to think they act alone.” He said sarcastically. “What did you do?.” She demanded. Her voice was low and teary with an angry undertone.
“I recognize those two from the boat, I don't know what went down before now, but avenging yourself this way would only get you killed.”
“If you're a fate god like you claim, you should know exactly what they did.”
“Or I just don't care.”
And he really didn't, he only followed up death. Human destinies were in their hands, all he did was give them what they wanted. Regardless of the fact it might affect someone else.
Ariel was frustrated and exhausted. She squats and holds her head in between both hands in tears. He had ruined her plan to get justice for herself and the man Damien had murdered unjustly.
“What are you expecting? You show up, say whatever, everyone believes you and they get thrown behind bars?.”
“Do you think life is that simple or are you just plain stupid?.”
Ariel slowly shot up to her feet and looked at Axel dead in the eye.
“Go on, call me all you want. I'm happy I finally get to meet you. I always wondered why I was born. Did you choose this fate for me and watch me suffer all these years? It must have been fun seeing how pathetic I was.”
“Your decisions shape your fate, I have no hand in that.”
“It was my decision to be an orphan too?.”
“I owe you no explanation.”
Ariel tried to suppress her choked sobs. Even a god could not take the blame for her messy life.
“Stop being silly kid, these guys will hunt you down and have you killed the moment they get the slightest idea you're alive. You carry their secrets, it's only convenient they bury them with you. Your emotions will only get you killed. This is a power struggle, being a good person does not matter.”
Ariel sobbed, her life was filled with pain.
“If you'd like any classes I can teach you how to crash a wedding.” He offered. Axel despised Ariel, but causing mischief was one thing he could not resist.
He barely finished his sentence when Gregory the gardener walked up to Ariel. She was puzzled, why was he here with the gardener? The mystery soon unraveled itself. The wedding vows kicked off, and the ring exchange rites commenced just then.
The priest stepped forward and addressed the small exquisitely glammed up crowd in the garden. “As I bind these two on the altar spiritually and legally, is there anyone that objects to this union, or have a reason why these two at the altar should not be joined as man and wife, let them speak, or forever hold their peace.
Gregory gave Axel a knowing smile, Axel gave him a go ahead.
He quickly shape shifts into an elegant sexy lady in a figure hugging pepper red dress. Her blonde body wave hair was an added beauty. On seeing his surprising transformation, Ariel's weight buckles under her knees. Her body shakes, she is too shocked to speak or stand straight. The beautiful lady who was once Gregory pats Ariel on the back.
“I'll be home as soon as I'm done ma'am.” She catwalks in quick strides and makes her way to the altar, no one sees her coming.
The priest continues. “Since there are no objections, I now pronounce…….
“No , you cannot marry her!!! How dare you Damien!!! After all the passion we shared last night!!!.” She yells. The guests look at the unfolding drama in surprise as they converse in hushed whispers. Bianca looks at the crowd and the media in embarrassment, tears of frustration begins to build up in her cornea. She turns to the confused Damien in anger. If looks could kill, he'd be dead. Damien broke out in cold sweat, his throat went dry, he swallowed hard.
“I swear, I don't know her!!.” He said loudly, trying to convince Bianca — and himself. His denial only got the strange lady in red enraged. “You liar!!.” She shrieked as she stepped forward and slapped him hard on the face. He looked at her in surprise, desperate to recognize her, even in the slightest. Without warning, the lady grabbed his hair and tugged it hard. Damien yelped in pain. The entire wedding erupted in chaos, Calista ran to the altar to save her son but got pushed violently by the rabid lady.
Tears pooled Bianca's eyes, she gathered the folds of her wedding dress that were sweeping the ground and broke into a run. Some security men run to Damien's aid to drag his alleged mistress away. She was already on his back as she held him on chokehold, refusing to let go. She clung to him like a leech. It took a lot of pulling and tugging to get her off his body.
Ariel watched the unfolding drama with mixed feelings. She was scared, but also fascinated. She turned to where Axel stood, but he was no where in sight, he had disappeared. Feeling unsafe, she knew she had to leave before someone sees her. She was going to watch the rest of the drama on the news. Back in highschool Bianca had always bragged to Ariel about throwing a splendid wedding. A wedding of the century. Her dream came true after all cause no one was ever going to forget this wedding.
Bianca tried to get away from the venue fast, tears stung her eyes as her eyes scanned the garden to find a place she could escape the rest of the world. Admist her confusion, she spots an over familiar figure running away from the hedge in the distance across the garden. Her eyes were probably deceiving her.
“Ariel?.” She muttered in surprise.
