I helped Amelie into the car and slid in next to her.

“I won’t be home for supper tomorrow night,” I announced. “My mother wants to meet with Grandfather and me.”

“OK,” Amelie smiled.

“Are you sure it’s ok?” I asked. “Because if you don’t want me to, I won’t go.”

“Nathan, I’m totally fine with it,” Amelie advised. “She’s your mother. You should see if the relationship can be mended.”
