“What do you mean, Paul?” I asked, feigning innocence.

“Madison,” Paul said, scolding me. “You know what. Do you need me to say it?”

“What are you talking about, Paul?” I said nervously.

“I heard your dad on the phone while he was on the balcony,” Paul stated.
