Chapter 3

It was Monday again and here we were, Ynna, Ambria, and I, at the school entrance. Marju had dropped us off and gone home. By the way, after we saw Clarke at Don Roman's mansion, he still hadn't called me, and I couldn't reach him on his phone. I couldn't find Jax and Lance either. Where did those two go? I wondered as Ambria tapped me on the arm.

"Where's your boyfriend? Is he here?" she asked, waiting for my answer. Ynna also scanned the area as we walked down the long hallway of the school.

"I don't know. Since we saw him at Don Roman's mansion, I haven't received any calls or texts from him." I answered

"Really? Clarke isn't like that. He always updates you when he's going somewhere. And how come he's not doing that now?" Ynna said. I was also confused because Clarke wasn't usually like this.

Ambria stepped between Ynna and me and quickly put her arm around us. "Maybe he's just busy. Don't overthink it."

I still hadn't gone home yet. Lance and Jax had come to pick me up here. I couldn't call Everest because I ran out of load, and the stores were a bit far from here. Ugh! I suddenly missed her.

"Is she your girlfriend?" Don Roman asked suddenly when he saw my phone wallpaper.

I saw him frown, but I ignored it and immediately put my phone in my pocket."Yes, sir."

"Okay, are you going to marry her?" He asked.

I smiled and nodded."Yes, I will marry her. I already bought a ring to propose to her. I know it's too early to ask her to marry me, but I love her very much."

"I'm happy to hear that. But will you still marry her if you find out what she did?" Don Roman said, making me overthink.

"Just forget about what I said. Just be happy, and I'll support you. But please still leave a space in your heart for my daughter." Don Roman said.

"She's always in my heart. And that will never change because she's etched in here." I pointed to my heart.

"I'll leave the three of you here. I just need to make a call. Enjoy yourselves. If you want to drink, there's plenty of alcohol here. And if you get hungry, just let the servants know." After saying this, Don Roman hurriedly left with his private guard.

We decided to spend some time at the bar counter of Don Roman's house. Before, we used to hang out there a lot when Samantha was still alive. But she wasn't allowed to drink back then because she was only seventeen, so only Lance, Jax, and I could drink because we were already eighteen.

"Clarke, what did Don Roman mean when he said you were going to marry Everest?" Jax asked, playing with his glass.

"I don't know. By the way, Jax, do you really like Ynna?" My question made his cheeks blush. Confirmed! He does like Ynna.

"What if I say I like her? Would you believe me?" He said, sitting cross-legged.

"Of course, we believe you. But if you hurt my girlfriend's best friend, you'll get a taste of this." I showed him my fist, which startled him.

"What about Mady? Your ex hates it when you're with someone else. She's not going to be happy about this." Lance asks, making Jax look nervous.

"We broke up a long time ago! So stop mentioning her name. It's getting annoying."

Jax stood up and sat next to me. Then he refilled my empty glass with alcohol. "Are you going to marry Everest?"

I looked at Jax seriously and took a sip of my drink. "Yes, so don't worry. I'll make you groomsmen and Ynna will be a bridesmaid."

Jax's eyes lit up at my words, and Lance and I couldn't help but laugh. "Really? And Ynna will be my partner? Yes! Yes! Count me in."

Ambria's phone suddenly rang while we were in the middle of class. Almost everyone looked at her because she screamed.

"What? Where are you?" Ambria said. Ynna and I looked at our professor and told him we would accompany Ambria outside for a moment.

"We're hiding! But I don't know where Gab-Gab ran. Isla is with me. I was going to look for Gab-Gab, but she wouldn't let me leave her. I'm sorry."

"Okay, just stay calm. We're on our way." After Ambria said that, she kept looking back and forth between Ynna and me with fear evident on her face.

"Someone's inside our mansion. Marju said, but he can't find Gab Gab."

"She's fine. She's hiding with Marju." Ynna seemed relieved at Ambria's words.

"And Isla?" Ynna asked, surprised, while I quickly took the car from the parking lot and let the two of them in.

"If you don't come out in three seconds! I'm going to kill this kid!" A male voice yelled. Marju looked at the man holding Gab-Gab by the collar. He had no choice but to come out and leave Isla in their hiding spot.

"I'm coming out! Just don't hurt the Kid!" Marju shouted, raising her hands. But the situation worsened when he heard Isla's scream. Isla had followed him, but Marju didn't notice.

"Let me go!" Isla yelled.

"Don't hurt them! Here I am. Just hurt me!''

Marju grabbed a baseball bat that was resting on the piano and started hitting the men approaching him one by one. he was a skilled fighter. So only four men were left standing; the other nine were knocked unconscious. But Marju didn't care about the injuries he sustained from fighting them as long as he protected Gab-Gab and Isla. Even though he was a skilled fighter, the nine men he fought were strong.

"Don't fight us. Let us do what we want to you. If you don't want us to shoot those two kids!"

"Okay! Just don't hurt them. I agree," said Marju. He was kicked and punched in various parts of his body and hit with a baseball bat. Then, he heard four consecutive gunshots. He saw the four men fall to the floor.

"Who sent you here? Answer my question! Or I'll kill your family!" Ambria yelled when she saw what her boyfriend Marju had endured at their hands.

"Don't hurt my family. I'll tell you. Don Roman ordered us." He said.

"Mommy! Sister!" Gab-Gab and Isla yelled together.
