Chapter chapter 1:

"Missy, I suggest you take out the dishes and the trash before thinking of going to prepare for the ceremony. But that doesn't in any way mean that you can be late for the occasion either " Mrs Celine yelled as she brushed her hair, rolling her eyes indistinctively.

Apparently, the sight of the maid in front of her irritated her and she wasn't so kind as to not show it off.

"Yes ma'am." Eirene affirmed, nodding her head in understanding as she tried her best to avert any cause of hitting that morning.

Funny to actually believe that the person she was calling 'Ma'am' was none other than her step mother but she had no choice but to go along with it just to please her step mother.

Of course, her father was aware of it but he didn't care anyways.

"And please, make sure not to even think of showing up at the ceremony looking like a scare crow and when I mean scare crow, I mean do not for any reason possible show up at the ceremony looking like that...the way you're looking now." Her step mother warned as she grabbed her bangles and immediately after putting them on, dressed in a cloth that befitted royalties..she set out.

"Alright ma'am." Eirene replied again as her step mother was already at the door and Mrs Celine just rolled her eyes before exiting.

As Mrs Celine exited, Eirene heaved a long sigh of relief because finally...she would be able to have some minutes of peace without Mrs Celine around the house.

Apart from Celine, no other person cared enough to bother her. Not even her father and it was just Eirene, her father and Celine with her nosy children that never acted like Eirene existed in their household.

It wouldn't be bad to say that Eirene didn't even exist in their world unless it's that fragment of time when she was to serve them.

But now, they weren't in the house and it was a sweet relief for Eirene as she sunk into a sofa.

Eirene always wanted to see herself like a loser simply because she was an omega but with time she realized that being an omega in the pack was way better than being wolfless.

She was so certain that if she had ever turned out to be wolf less, she would outright murder herself.

Ever since Eirene turned 18, she looked forward to meeting her mate as meeting her mate would surely elevate her status and free her from this slavery but today; she absolutely confirmed that there was no running away from the suffering.

Her father and her step mother had set her up with the Alpha king's cruel son who everyone knew throughout the village of light wood pack to be aggressive as well as dangerous and they were supposed to get married that day.

And here she was, laying on the sofa bearing in mind that she still had to do the laundry and take care of the dishes, make sure the house is clean and free from even a speck of dust and also not turn up late at her own wedding.

So much for being a bride!

Realizing that the more time she wasted laying on the sofa determined how fast she would turn up at her wedding, Eirene immediately got up and began attending to the pile of house chores that threatened to seep her life out slowly.

The last shred of hope she was holding onto was– her supposed husband shouldn't be as bad as she had heard.

She eventually was able to finish the chores as soon as she could and it was time to get ready for this miserable wedding that she didn't even want.

Well, she didn't have much of a choice.

Checking the wall clock for the last time before hurrying out of the house, Eirene realized that she had only 30 minutes before she was considered late.

She couldn't run in her wolf form. No, her step mother would kill her so she just ran on foot to her assumed husband's house where his family was waiting for her.

"Eirene, you're late." The voice of her step mother groveled as she stepped foot into the room where Eirene's gaze wandered freely to the clock in the room.

Eirene so badly wanted to say that she wasn't behind time but her head was still valuable to her and she also realized that aside from Luna, every other person was terrified of her step mother.

"There's no time to waste any longer, darling. Just get seated already, so the maids can help make your face look less miserable." Luna said totally matching Eirene's step mothers vibes as they giggled while Eirene just wished for the day to be over.

They eventually wrapped everything up and transported to the mating hall where the ceremony was being held and Eirene walked down the aisle feeling empty in every part of her soul and body.

This wasn't the exact feeling she had dreamt about but as usual, there was apparently nothing she could do about it.

Staring at the man who was to be her husband as he sat near by the Alpha, Eirene concluded that he didn't really look like a demon and was in fact, handsome.

With her face bent, she didn't even give herself a few minutes to gush over the man she was marrying as she took her place beside him and he didn't even spare her a glance.

"Time for exchanging vows." The Alpha announced and everyone clapped as Eirene and the Alpha's son, Lucan stood up ready to exchange their vows that they would probably not keep to.

"Do you take Eirene Sylver-Stone to be your lawfully—" The elder who was reading out the vows when there was a little stir from the crowd and everyone went on their knees.

"Sorry to interrupt the rites, Lucas; but I'm afraid that the rites can't continue." The man who had just walked in who turned out to be Claw Night mark, Lycan of the whole province and Alpha of all Alphas declared smiling weirdly at Lucas.

"You son of a bitch! How dare you?" Lucas yelled, staring daggers at Claw.

"How dare I? Lucas, I just happen to want everything you would have and I eventually get them." Claw said with a sinister smile while Eirene was the most confused person in the room.
