Chapter 2

"You're not doing that! You're not stopping my marriage for anything, Claw." Lucas growled as his inner Wolf peeked up and his green eyes were now visible as his Alpha Aura dominated the entire room.

"That's definitely not a way to talk to your king!" Claw stated adamantly as he stood transfixed at a spot with both his hands in his pocket casually like he was enjoying Lucas frustration.

Everyone bowed their heads to the ground because of the Alpha Aura but for some weird reason, Eirene wanted to see where all these would end so she kept raising her head repeatedly to understand what was going on.

A lot of questions ran through her mind, like—

How such a handsome young man that was so handsome to the extent that calling him a Greek god wouldn't be offensive, turned Lycan.

Lycan was the highest peak of the werewolf lineage that one could ever reach and most times, old, advanced and aged men were the ones that were found on the Seat so why him?

"My king, please for the sake of—" Lucas's father was pleading while Lucas kept glaring at Claw like he was about to drill holes through Claw's body.

"Its not late, Adolphus. Once I express my interest in something, I must get it and today, I demand that the damsel be sold to me as my breeder." Claw stated and Eirene's heart skipped a few beats as they sank far deep into her stomach.

Her life had always been a pawn in the hands of everyone that came by her side like they were playing chess but ending up as the Lycan's sex toy wasn't exactly a good thing to Eirene.

"Mr and Mrs Sylver-Stone, would you be so kind as to give your daughter to me as my breeder?" He asked, staring at Eirene's parents who had their head to the floor and they rose up quietly.

Though it seemed like the Lycan king was asking nicely, everyone knew that no one would even think of questioning his orders unless that person was — LUCAS.

"Anything you want, my lord." Mr and Mrs Sylver–Stone echoed in unison.

Though Mr Sylver–Stone wasn't exactly thrilled by the arrangement that the Lycan king was thwarting, he couldn't do anything about it.

He was just a gamma and not an Alpha that could at least oppose the Lycan's instruction.

He had always acted like the sufferings that surrounded his daughters life was none of his business but deep down, he missed when her mother was still alive.

"Very well. Now, what's your name damsel?" Claw asked with a sheepish yet wicked and evil grin referring to Eirene who felt her blood boiling at the fact that her parents hadn't even tried to stop all these at any point.

"Eirene, my Lord." Eirene answered and lifted her face to meet his gaze and every sense of courage that was alive in her went down the hill.

Exuding masculinity was something that the Lycan king did without stress and as he stood, leaning on one of the pillars and tilted his head to a side—he stared at Eirene and she swallowed an invisible lump.

"Well, as much as you're my breeder..you'd also make a fine maid." Lycan king Claw commented before straightening himself and Eirene rolled her eyes.

"Talking of a breeder, I have potential to be a maid." Eirene muttered within herself as she smiled in pain.

"We'd leave now, Lucas. And just a beautiful advice for you, you're becoming a big bad wolf talking back at your Lucan king. I might not be so merciful next time." Claw started with a slight grin and a smirk attached to it.

"Fuck you!" Lucas shouted with pain visible in his eyes but not because of the fact that he had just lost his wife.

No, far from it!

His eyes held another undefined pain that was due to the past grudges held against the Lycan king.

"It's only when you're a female that you're liable for that offer." Lycan King claw stated as he winked at Lucas before moving out.

"Miss, you'd have to come with us." A voice came as the owner of the voice tapped Eirene on her shoulders and she looked up to meet with Claw's beta.

"Like, right now?" Eirene asked, bewildered at the thought that she wasn't given any space or time to adjust to the fact that she was suddenly married to a Lycan in a few minutes.

"Yes." The man said twitching his eye brows as he stared at Eirene like her question had been totally unreasonable.

"Skylter?" Lycan King Claw called out to his beta who was still standing beside Eirene.

"We're on your trail." He answered as Eirene slowly stood up and followed the Lycan king with Skylter trailing him behind.

"The doctor brought in a report that I'm pregnant. I really hope that I don't lose this one in a miscarriage." Eirene grumbled in bed to Lycan King Claw one day and he caressed her stomach.

"I hope not." He stood up and placed a soft peck on her head and began dressing up.

"Where are you headed?" Eirene stood up as well as she placed the pregnancy report from the pack doctor into the drawer.

"I have a meeting with her council of elders in a few minutes, I shouldn't be late." In a few hours, he was gone and Eirene was left alone in the house.

Still reeling from the excitement of being pregnant, she dressed up to go out into the village.

"My lady, you're not allowed to leave without your crown." Her personal maid remained, and she nodded before realizing it that she had left it in the Grand Hall where the Lycan King was having his meeting and maids wouldn't be allowed in.

"It's not a hassle, I'll just get it myself." Approaching the door, she heard loud voices and wondered what was going on.

"No one has to question my decision. If I say that I will continue deceiving my wife and telling her that she is pregnant and is having miscarriages even if she is barren to keep her happy, that's what I will do."

Eirene gasped as her hands went to her stomach.

What was he talking about when she was barren?
