I was released from the hospital the next day. My leg already felt much better, though it was still difficult to put weight on it. The doctor planned to give me crutches to help me walk until I regained full strength. As soon as he stepped out of the room to get them, my mother rolled her eyes and said, “I’ll take care of it.”
