Things weren’t going the way I planned.

We’d tried to breach Red Crescent’s territory several times over the past few days and failed every time. Even when I sent two men in from opposite ends of the perimeter, their patrols were on them within minutes, too fast to be a coincidence. They didn’t know our objective yet, but they clearly knew we were rogues. I couldn’t wait to see the looks on their smug faces when they realized why we were really there, to kill them.
