“Trey, there are a lot of warriors outside, at least fifty. We’re not getting out of here,” Thomas said, panic rising in his voice and cutting through the tense silence.

“What?” Trey snapped, taking a step back toward the window where Thomas stood. He kept his eyes locked on me until the last second, then glanced out. I saw the exact moment the truth hit him, he was surrounded, and this was the end.
