Chapter 2

Elara's POV

If this place had a heart or soul, it was certainly frozen to ice,I stood before the beautifully decorated entry of Blackthorn Academy’s main hall this place was shouting power, everything about it was shouting power.

My breath was steady as I walked into the main hall, Students walked past my in expensive attires their were laughing, snarling, and chatting, All of them wolves.

All of them born to bloodlines that ran deeper than rivers and colder than ice.

All of them are from elite families.

I was the outsider.

No one needed to tell me I don't belong here, from the cheap shirt and shorts I was wearing I Know and their know I don't.

The only thing their don't know is I am also a threat.

One that will destroy them and their bloodline.

My schedule of classes for today was clenched tight in my hand.

Squeezed from how tight I was holding it, I looked at the subject “Lycan History, Bloodline Theory, Pack Tactics, Combat & Control,” I murmured to myself. “All the ways they’ve perfected keeping power among their greedy selfs".

I sighed before

I glanced at the black clock on one of the pillars and the time was.

8:03 a.m.

I was already late.

So I started Rushing towards the class.

I have already studied the schools entire map so I know everywhere here.

The sound of my boots echoed throughout the hallway as my boots keep hitting the polished obsidian floors.

As i entered the main school building were classes take place. Cold magic pulsed faintly beneath my feet, it was old and territorial.

This place wasn’t just a school it was a sanctuary for the elite wolves, And a graveyard for lowlife wolves like me.

A sound laughter from the other side drew my attention.

I slowly turned and looked at what was happening there.

A circle of students stood in the center of the massive hallway all their eyes fixed on a boy pacing slowly around with his entire body trembling. The boy holding him

No the Alpha holding him moved like he owned the air itself.

It was non other than the Arrogant bastard.

Kael Draven.

His leather jacket was open, with silver rings shining on his fingers.

There was a smirk twisting his lips. Making my stomach to knot.

He is dangerous.

“Repeat what you said,” Kael ordered the trembling boy Infront of him.

“I-I didn’t mean... I just said your father" the boy began to speak but kept on sluttering.

“Is soft?” Kael continued, his voice was calm and at the same time cold. “You think the alpha who destroyed two packs with just a single command is soft?” A man behind kael questioned.

“N-no, I”

Before anyone could process what was happening The boy hit the wall with a whimp of pain crumpling to the ground, he started gasping for air,

I was looking at him with wide eyes and pity.

But Kael didn’t blink.

He is probably used to doing this

“Lesson one,” Kael said, with his eyes scanning the crowd.

“At Blackthorn, your words are weapons. If you can’t wield them, they’ll be used right back against you.”

A few students chuckled. A few turned away and leaved used to the violence and not wanting to get on his shit list.

But my fingers curled into fists as I looked at what he was doing to the poor boy.

He was a monster. Just like the my mom said.

But the all of a sudden his landed on me. And something shifted.

The smirk on his face returned.

“Elara North,” he called. “Our newest charity case.”

The people behind him and everyone turned their attention to me.

My heart dropped.

But I said nothing.

I instead I Held my chin up high.

Kael started walking towards me, as one of the girls that was standing behind him with long brown hair and black eyes glared at me with hatred.

I wonder who she is.

His eyes were gleaming with something dark and sharp as he stopped right in front of me.

“You missed orientation. That’s strike one,” he said, as he started cycling me like a predator. “Strike two is breathing my air like you belong here.” he said stopping in his tracks.

The entire room was quiet

No one wants to be his next target.

But for me grabbing his attention is why I am here.

“I didn’t realize even oxygen had your bloodline,” I said with my, voice louder than I intended.

A few students gasps.

As the four students that were behind him looked at me with wide eyes.

And Kael stilled.

The look in his eyes was pure Challenge, and anger And something else.

Something I couldn't understand.

“You’ve got some fire in you,” he murmured, stepping closer to me “And that's Good. I like watching fire burn.”

He slowly reached out.

And my breath hitched.

His rough fingers brushed my wrist,

skin meeting skin.

And that gave me a spark.

A violent pulse shot up my arm.

And I think He felt it too.

Because Kael flinched, with his gaze snapping to mine.

And His pupils blew wide, and for one terrible second, everything around them stopped.

Bond.

The bond.

It crackled in the air like lighting

It was unseen by the others but undeniable between us

“You" he started saying with confusion all over his face, but then he stopped, masking his confusion in less than a second “You’re lucky I’m in a generous mood today.” he said before he turned and walked to the direction of the class.

The three men and lady that were behind him gave me one last glare before their followed behind him.

Everyone around started walking towards there classes.

but I stood there barely breathing.

This couldn’t happen to me. I can't bond with him. He was the enemy.

My enemy.......

———

The first class

Lycan History finished in a blur.

I sat in the back, behind two girls who kept whispering about how “even mutts are hot for Kael.” my jaw ached from how hard I was clenching it.

I didn’t speak.

I Didn’t look up.

I Just listened.

I Listened to the way the professor praised the Draven dynasty. How they have brought “balance” to the rogue infested outer territories.

How their power “united” packs under one rule.

I think he means scattered though.

He didn't even mentioned the Nightbane Massacre.

The bloodshed.

The betrayal.

I was writing everything he was saying in my notes with shaking hands. My fingers kept brushing the burn on her wrist ,where kael touched me.

I looked around the class and neither him nor his four friends were here.

And I hated that I could still feel him.

After the class I headed for canteen.

And Lunch was worse.

The dining hall looked like a real gothic royal palace

With dark wood, crimson banners and ancient chandeliers. I didn’t sit on the tables available in the front, everyone's eyes were on me.

What was I expecting after going against kael.

I sighed before I grabbed a tray and walked near the edge, not ready to be devoured by the glares.

Then suddenly a voice came.

His voice.

“She’s cute, in a pitiful way.”

He said making me to look at his direction.

He was seated at the head table, surrounded by his friends.

His inner circle.

Greedy Wolves who would do anything to stay close to power.

And his eyes were on me.

So I looked back directly into his eyes.

“You plan on standing there all day?” he questioned. “Or are you too scared of the furniture, North?”

The entire room turned and looked at me and their kept whispering something to each other.

My face burned.

I didn't plan on grabbing people's attention, cause it will be riskier for me, but this dude keeps getting me the unwanted attention.

I forced my legs to move.

And I walked straight to the table next to his,

I dropped my tray, and sat down on the empty table.

without responding to a word he said.

All the table's that surrounded his were empty, probably nobody wants to get bullied.

A flicker of amusement crossed his face.

And He leaned back in his seat, arms around the chair like a king on a throne. “I’ll give you credit, elara” he said. “You’ve got more guts than most.”

“Good,” I said flatly. “Because you talk too much.”

A few students gasps.

But Kael let out a low laugh, but there was no sign humor in it, it was a bitter laugh.

“You’ll regret that,” he said softly, still looking into my eyes

And I didn’t look away.

I couldn’t afford to.

This place was worse than I imagined.

Kael was worse than their describe him.

He is Cruel, arrogant, and intoxicatingly powerful.

And Every fucking instinct in my body screamed at me to run.

But my heart that is loyal to my fallen pack screamed louder

For me to fight.

But my wolf?

ached for him.......
