Chapter 1

CHAPTER 1

Aiden Miller wished his father was dead. How could a father knowingly create a rift between two brothers?

“Father, I have a simple question. Do you want Alex and I to murder each other? Though, it's highly impossible that he will harm me, but your intentions are getting suspicious.”

“Aiden, this is a serious matter. It concerns the future of our companies and our corporation.”

Aiden regarded his younger brother and his father. Alexander has always been the perfect son; perfect and loved by all. While, Aiden was the black sheep.

Nevertheless, he didn't care or try to change. After all, he was bound to succeed his father as the first son.

“Do you think this is a joke? Let me repeat this. The seat of chairmanship is open to anyone, not just you two. But as my sons, I believe you can do better than them, therefore I'm giving you two my full support.”

“Aiden, this position is supposed to be just for you. But because of your errant and distrustful…”

“Let me guess, I have to prove to you that I'm as boring as Alex. Here's my answer; no.”

Chairman Miller barely smirked at his son's rude tone. He was used to it and knew very well how to make him dance to his tune.

“Then, why are you here? If you can't offer anything good, please leave.”

Chairman Miller wasn't surprised when his first son stood up without thinking twice. Aiden was halfway across the room, heading for the door.

“Once you leave this room, your chances of succeeding me are gone. You will also be kicked out of Miller Corp.”

Aiden stopped in his tracks, turning to face his father. He looked dead serious as he stared at his father with so much anger.

“What do you want?”

“Prove to me through a specialist, that you're mentally stable and have acquired the social norms and etiquette.”

Aiden sent him a single nod, before leaving the office in cold fury.

“Mr. Aiden Miller! Isn't he rumored to be the crazy, ruthless CEO?”

“Bianca! As a psychologist, you shouldn't judge. Well, he’s here and I can bet that he will be assigned to you.”

Bianca glared at her colleague as they returned from their lunch break.

They were about to walk into the office building when they caught sight of the car parked in front of the building.

“Hey, Bee, how about a few pics? Vivian, her colleague asked, rushing to snap a few shots of the sleek, black sports car.

Aiden, who had just stepped out of the building, caught sight of them. His eyes narrowed, and he strode over, anger radiating off him like heat waves. "Excuse me, what do you think you're doing?"

Vivian froze, phone in hand. Bianca, however, stepped forward, her chin held high. "We were just admiring your car. Is that a crime?"

Aiden's gaze locked onto Bianca's. She was striking, with fierce green eyes and a confident stance. For a moment, he was taken aback. Even Alex Michelle hadn't spoken to him with such a tone.

“Admiring? Or invading my privacy? Didn't you notice that's a private plate number?”

"Relax, Mister. It's just a couple of pics." Bianca said, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

"No one's planning to sell your car pictures to the tabloids. Besides, you look like someone who loves publicity so it shouldn't be a problem."

Aiden's jaw tightened. "Who the hell do you think you are?"

"I'm anyone. So, don't look down on me. Work on that." she replied with a smirk.

"And I think you also need to work on your anger issues."

Aiden's eyes flashed with irritation, but also a hint of amusement. "Great. Just what I need. Another person to tell me how screwed up I am."

"That means you're really The Grinch and right now you're stopping an innocent and beautiful lady from taking some pictures."

Bianca shot back, not missing a beat. She was trying to be nice because she really wanted Vivian to be happy.

“Who’s The Grinch?” Aiden hated being ignorant about anything or anyone.

Bianca gasped dramatically. Was this man an alien?

“You don't know The Grinch? What are you?”

Aiden was about to reply but decided that it was time-wasting. He was already frustrated that his therapist wasn't around at the moment.

“Look, Miss. I will spare you today, but you won't be so lucky next time.” He scolded Vivian in a cold tone.

Before Bianca could retort, a security guard approached. "Is everything alright here?"

Bianca gave the guard a reassuring smile. "Yes, everything's fine. This young man and I were just having a... friendly conversation.”

Bianca walked in with Vivian, heaving a sigh of relief.

“That went well.”

“Well? That was scary! How could you even talk to him? He’s super scary.”

Vivian shuddered as she remembered the experience. She had been so speechless when the man had arrived.

“Yeah, he was.”

Bianca was more concerned with how handsome he was. The man was breathtaking! If it weren't for the situation, she would have asked him out.

“Bee, you’re crushing on him, right?” Vivian nudged her, her smile mischievous.

Bianca blushed furiously but didn't deny it. Any hot-blooded female would crush on him.

“Smith!”

The duo turned to see the manager scurrying towards them.

“Where have you been?”

“Um…on my lunch break?” Bianca was wondering why the manager would suddenly be interested in her routine.

You have a patient waiting. Hurry now! A very important patient. I trust you on this. Please treat him extra special. If you mess this up, I'm sorry, but you won't have a job.”

Bianca gasped, but her boss just sent her an apologetic look before running off.

Bianca didn't even listen to Vivian's words of encouragement as she ran to her office. The thought that she had kept her client waiting was torturing.

Bianca ran into the office, apologizing.

“I'm very sorry…”

“You!”

Before her sat the man who didn't know The Grinch.
