Ariana's POV

The rain came down harder than I expected.

Colder, too.

It soaked through the oversized hoodie I’d stolen from one of the laundry baskets near the mansion gate, sticking to my skin like punishment. My shoes were slick with mud, and every step squelched like the earth itself was trying to hold me in place.
