Chapter 136 The Broken Moon

Kael POV

The first moon shard fell at dawn.

It came down like a slow, white flame, beautiful and wrong. When it struck the eastern ridge, the ground trembled. The wolves howled before the echo even faded.

By the time I reached the ridge, the sky was full of them, silver sparks raining down one by one. Pieces of the moon, still glowing with cold fire.

Ardyn stood ahead of me, barefoot on the rock. Her hair moved with the wind, silver strands catching the light.
