Chapter 104 Then Let’s Change a Place!

Qingyi struggled to open her eyes, and then she saw Mengta’s meaty baby face magnified in front of her. She wondered where she was. Was not she facing her inner demon?

Mengta became excited as he found his mother was awake. He flew into Qingyi’s arms, “Mom, you’re awake! You finally wake up!”

“Where am I?” Qingyi made great efforts with her arms to sit up and looked around. Mengta thought she was angry, so he explained in a hurry, “Mom, we’re still in the imperial clan of Zither. We did not go anywhere! Do you feel uncomfortable, mom?”

Qingyi did not expect that Mengta would be so anxious, so she smiled to comfort him, “What? Why are you so worried? I’m just checking.”

Mengta let out a sigh of relief, but before the sigh ended, there were sounds came from the outside of the door.

“Mengta, did your mother wake up? I’m coming in!”

Mengta tingled. Could not his dad be more thoughtful? His mom must take him as his father’s accomplice now. Though he was indeed his father’s accomplice, was it good to be so obvious?

He did want to reply that his mom had woken up, but the way his mom looked at him was terrifying. It seemed that he would die if he dared to answer.

Facing two choices, Mengta thought listening to his mother must be the wiser one, so he kept his mouth closed. He stayed quiet beside Qingyi.

The man outside did not hear the answer. He did not think too much and directly push the door to step in, without forgetting to close the door carefully.

When he turned to face the inside, he was almost shocked to sit on the floor. The one who he thought was still sleeping was sitting there and glaring at him. He swallowed for anxiety, and the things he held in hand nearly fell.

“Qingyi, you woke up!”

It was just a simple greeting, but he knew she would not answer him friendly as that was the greeting from him.

“What? You don’t want me to wake up?” Qingyi snorted coldly, and he was terrified to tingle.

“How’s that possible!”

He was so timid in front of her.

“Why are you here? Haven’t I said that you ought to keep three hundred meters away from wherever I am? Besides, don’t let me notice your existence.”

Qingyi had sensed a dense breath but not threatening, and she had wondered who he was. When she saw Mengta’s guilty face, she doped out. He still came for them.

“I… I just want to see if you are living well.”

He behaved primly and dared not to move. His obedient look made Mengta update his knowledge about his father. He never expected that his dad would be so meek while facing his mom!

Mengta snickered and used a hand to cover his smile, laughing at his dad. Qingyi glimpsed at him, and he tingled. He vanished his smile at once, sat upright, and looked at his dad with a peaceful face.

His implication was apparent enough. He betrayed his dad again and stood at his mom’s side.

Qingyi, “....”

When Shigong saw her face became milder, he took a step closed tentatively, “Qingyi, I....”

“Step back!”

“All right!”

His foot hanging in the air had no way but drawing back.

Qingyi did not want to see him, but she could not change the idea in her mind. When she faced her inner demon, she did want to deny that the man she saw was not him, absolutely not. However, that man was him, who was in front of her and so obedient to her now.

“Qingyi, could we talk peacefully?”

This was the first time that Shigong spoke to Qingyi in this way.

Qingyi supported her head with a hand, looking at him at leisure, “For what? There’s nothing to talk between us.”

Actually, Qingyi knew well in her heart that there would not be a good end if they kept hanging up. The best solution for them was to say everything clear.

“There is, of course! As regards to the faults I made, I, I know I could say nothing about those, and you would not believe, so I’d better explain by myself now.”

“Explain? Do you think you haven’t hurt me enough? Don’t you know how you treated me at that time? Now you want to explain. Do you think I’m that sort of person who can be comforted with candy after being slapped?”

Qingyi stared at him, and her eyes were full of tears. She just leaned a little, and then her tears run down her face. Shigong watched her crying but did not know what to do.

“Qingyi, believe me. That day, I did not mean to do that from my heart.”

“Then would you say that was not you?”

“I....”

Shigong lost his tongue and did not know how to put it across. Qingyi was very stubborn, he knew that very well, and it seemed that her stubbornness had never changed until now. The good news was that she still remembered all the past. That was enough for him.

“Go out!”

“Qingyi, can’t you give me a chance to explain?”

“I ask you to get out!” she stressed her voice. Shigong raised his head and could see her red eyes. “Get out!”

Shigong was helpless. He knew she needed time for buffering. “Qingyi, when you feel better, let’s talk again. Before that, I won’t leave you, no matter how you treat me.”

Qingyi sobbed while looking at him. Was he afraid that she would run into the same condition as she faced her inner demon?

After that, he left. He saw Xia Pumo standing outside with the sweet porridge when he opened the door. Xia Pumo looked embarrassed, “Um, I came to deliver the sweet porridge to Princess Qingyi. She needs to supplement more nutrition since she’s awake.”

Shigong glanced at the porridge and refrained himself from using force, but a small part of the door was torn apart because of his power. “I’ll stay here from now on. If anything happened to Qingyi, you must inform me.”

Though Shigong restrained his breath, his oppressive power could not be totally hidden as a king of monsters. Xia Pumo had to suffer this power and hold on with difficulty.

“Yes, yes, I will!”

When he walked past Shigong, the chill that was always adhering to Shigong’s black robe made him shiver.

It was still hot summer, but he seemed to be in the icy hell.

He took a moment to subside his moods and stepped in, while he nearly ran into Mengta as the kid just came out at the same time, and the porridge was almost spilled out.

“Sorry!”

Then Mengta slid away swiftly.

When Xia Pumo got in, he saw Qingyi was sitting on the bed in a daze with a low mood. “Princess Qingyi, would you have some food?”

Qingyi turned to face him, “Xia Pumo, would you mind leaving? I want to be alone for a while.”

She showed him the door, and Xia Pumo could understand. They might have a quarrel just now!

He had quarreled with Murong Zhe, but most of the time, Murong Zhe would surrender and come to delight him first.

After he put down the sweet porridge, he looked at the bowl and smiled. He did not make comments, went out, and closed the door for her, but he still reminded, “The porridge won’t taste good if it is cold. Have it when it’s still warm!”

Qingyi glimpsed at the porridge on the table and felt ironic.

Xia Pumo went outside and saw it was still a world of ice and snow. He sighed and did not know when the ice would melt.

Xia Puyang came with a big fur coat covering his body, “Mo, haven’t you found Princess Ronghua yet?”

Xia Pumo shook his head. How could they find her? “Once Ronghua disappeared, no one could find her if she did not want to show up.”

Xia Puyang was also aware of that. A woman like Ronghua must have a unique identity, and it might be hard to search for her location.

In fact, not to mention them, even Ronghua herself did not know the exact location. The only one she was familiar with at this place was the King of Death, Weilian.

They were standing side by side, and he seemed to have a good mood. Maybe their relationship was not like fire and water, as others described, who thought they would fight as long as they met.

However, it was the first time that they could stand together peacefully and enjoy the view. The reason why they met was mostly because of their transactions. At least, these transactions were valuable to him.

Ronghua ruminated for a moment and broke the silence at last, “Well, Weilian, could you give back my fan?”

Weilian said, “Your reason?”

Ronghua’s eyelid twitched, “This is my fan, and it will only be a common and useless one in your hand. Do I need any reason to reclaim my property?”

She kept observing Weilian’s expression when she said so, and her heart sunk slowly with that. She knew that once their topic came to the fan, it would not have a peaceful ending, and this must be a killjoy for the current scenery.

Weilian turned to face her. Owing to the heights, Ronghua always had to look up when she faced Weilian, and Weilian usually used this to give invisible pressure upon her.

As she had foreseen, Weilian’s face did not look good. He did not spoke. It seemed that mentioning the fan had touched his line!

Even though it was the first time they had met after her fan being taken, Ronghua still deemed that Weilian was not to come against her this time. She suspected that he knew something else, but she dared not to surmise too much about the thoughts of the King of Death.

“... Weilian!”

She grasped an edge of his clothes and tried to fawn, which she was not good at, and hoped that his mood would become better, while his expression did not change.

She kept calling his name with this soft voice for a while and finally gave up as it did not affect Weilian.

Perhaps she was too confident about herself. Taciturnity was Weilian’s personality. She wanted to use her customary tactics to muddle through, but she was afraid that he would flare.

“I… I’ll go back then. I still have tasks to do there!”

Then, she cautiously observed his face and stepped aside slowly, but Weilian stopped her the halfway, “Don’t move. Did I allow you to leave?”

Ronghua felt pretty oppressed and wronged. He did not let her speak nor let her go. What the hell was he thinking about?

“What the hell do you want? I want my fan, and you refused, so I just want to leave, but you still disagree. What do you want?”

He turned around sharply, and Ronghua was shocked. She became timid immediately. “Show me how you use the fan!”

“What?”

Used the fan?

The next second, he took out the fan that Ronghua had begged for a long time. It was right there in his hand, and Ronghua really wanted to grab it and run away.

“Don’t you worry that I will take the fan and escape?”

She asked tentatively, but Weilian respond with a black smile, “Do you think you can run?”

Ronghua was wordless. He was too confident about himself. How could she fail to escape with the fan? She just scrupled to the following troubles that might be caused. After all, she was not alone now.

Ronghua took over the fan and wielded it casually. Weilian’s eyes had never moved away from the fan as if it might disappear the next second.

Ronghua held the fan, and her mouth twisted. She detected his firm stare and let out a sigh of relief. She unfolded the fan with fingers, and then the fan vibrated and transformed into a sharp sword. The smooth surface of the brand reflected Ronghua’s face. Weilian looked at it in a trance.

“Demonstrate it for once!”

Demonstrate? How!

“No!” It was infeasible. The power of the fan should not be overlooked, and the others might be hurt carelessly.

However, Weilian approached one step and forced, “I ask you to demonstrate.”

Ronghua did not compromise, “Weilian, you should know the power of this fan. What if someone got hurt owing to the reckless usage? Don’t the King of Death know that it is just a small village?”

There was a village located below them, and Weilian knew that clearly, but he was only eager to know if the fan could have the same power in her hand.

“I command you to use it.”

Ronghua folded the fan, “Then shall we change a place. I can’t do it here.”

The problem could be solved nicely if they both compromised.

Nevertheless, Weilian got closer, nearly touched her skin, and squatted to scoop her up with one arm, “Then we change a place and show me!”
