"SIT."
Am I a dog now?
I want to punch his emotionless face right now, but I still want to live a normal life. I don't want to die early. Maybe, after this life, I can finally see heaven. I am still too young to die anyway.
I sighed deeply and waltzed towards this person, who was sitting calmly on his very fancy chair with his formal suit.
Indeed, he is handsome, but you can feel a murderous intent whenever you look at him.
Haha, save me.
"Why are you sitting over there?"
"Because it's free—" I couldn't continue what I was saying when he suddenly lifted me from the floor and put me in his lap.
W-what the! Is he really without manners at all?
"Hold still." He raised his hand, and he removed the chains from my neck.
It feels like I can breathe more properly when he finally takes that off.
Wow. So gentleman. Note the sarcasm.
I thought he was going to speak more, but he picked up the ballpoint pen on the table and started to write something. Yeah, right. The author did mention that even though medieval is the setting of the novel, some of the things here are based on the modern era.
Does that even make sense?
I shake my head in disapproval. This is not the right time to think about every scene in the novel. I need to find ways to survive in this world.
"Um, are you not going to set me free?" I asked with confusion when I saw him just continue writing about something about which I didn't even have an idea.
He didn't answer. I rolled my eyes. What do I expect? He's such a weirdo.
I can't stand or walk far away from him because he is holding my waist. So I just sighed again and looked out the open window at the back of his chair.
It's been two days since I got here. I got sold, bought by the freak male lead, and got a bath with him—which nothing happened by the way, never happened! Because he left that time when he noticed that I was not comfortable bathing with him, I got clothes—not woman's clothes, but man's clothes, because no one here knows what kind of clothes I should be wearing. I'm still thankful because even if that's the case, there are clothes that fit my body.
So right now, what should I do?
I clearly can't stay here because I'll be walking on eggshells around Leon. I feel like I could die because of him, much more so because he is acting weird most of the time.
"Woman—"
Ay, holy mother!" I yelled because of him suddenly whispering in my ears. I was still holding my chest when I looked in his direction.
"What?" he chuckled.
Right now, it's still surprising how he can laugh like that because his personality is strictly based on the novel.
"We are going to the palace later," Leon said, continuing his, er, writing work.
I tilted my head. "What? Why?"
Is it not dangerous? What should I do when they find out that a stranger has entered their world without their consent—which is a girl!?
And not to mention! The royals are the villains in the novel.
"You are shivering again. Are you scared?"
"Do we need to go there?" I asked him, scratching my nape.
He looked back at me. "Yeah. They're curious about you.
They knew about me—aw! What the!" He snapped my forehead! He has a big hand anyway!
"Silly. I've told you before, that everyone here knows only one woman." He pointed his finger in my direction. "And it's you."
What!? Everyone in this kingdom knows about me already!
Can I curse many times? What I want is to be reincarnated in a nice place, to be rich and beautiful, and then someone will offer me a contract marriage. Someone handsome, and I will tell him that I will not fall in love with him, but in the end, we're going to end up with each other!
I want that! I only want that! Dramatic life in a light way!
Why is my role so hard here? The only girl? Is he really serious? Can I just bump my head on the bricks or the hard thing?
"You look bewildered." He let go of the ballpen he was holding, and he suddenly hugged me. "It's alright, I won't let them hurt my pet," he added.
"Pet?" When the hell did I become a domestic animal?
"Why? Are you not my pet?" He looked at me and looked straight into my eyes.
I think I'm going to die if I say no.
"Ahaha-ha. Of course, I'm your pet. Do I need to bark too?" I joke, but his expression doesn't change at all.
Woah, woah, woah! Why is he staring at me with his mad eyes now? Did I do something wrong? Did I say something unforgivable?
Damn it, Arabella Fuentez! Pull yourself together! If you want to survive, then use every method you can!
"Will you do that for me?" His voice became serious too.
"Huh?"
My eyes widened when he suddenly put me at the table and stood up. He put both of his hands to my left and right, then leaned in closer.
"Then bark for me, woman."
Is he treating me like a dog now?
Is he really serious? Did he lose all his comedy type in his bones? I don't want to bark; is he kidding me?
"W-Wait—"
"Leon!"
I deeply sighed in relief when I heard a deep and familiar voice. Leon lost his attention in my direction.
"Father," Leon coldly uttered.
What? That was his father? The giant, scary man?
Oh, no wonder.
I can even hear his deep breath. "Damn it, Leon. Let's talk outside."
"No."
"The prince is here."
Leon looks like he's heard of the magic world. He suddenly stood up and left me behind in the room. Leaving me and the giant man—I mean his father—
You can go now too, sir. Go away. Leave me alone. I'm begging you.
Thankfully, he didn't say anything.
So I heaved a deep breath of relief when I was finally left alone in Leon's office room.
I walked to the window, and my guess was right—they have a wide and big garden like a maze at the front gate. On the other side, there is also a big greenhouse. I saw Leon over there while talking to someone, whom I think is the prince because of his uniform, which screams royalty.
I can't see his face because he is facing back in my direction.
The weather today is hot and breezy at the same time. If this is a normal day, it would be nice to hang out with certain friends and go to the beach.
I observed the two men standing and talking to each other. I think it's hot for Leon. His white skin is reddening now while he is talking to the prince.
Or, wait—oh my veggie—don't tell me. He's, you know, with the prince!
