I woke up to the side of my bed empty.

Had the previous night been a dream. Or a fragment of my imagination.

What a great way to start my day. I sat up slowly, still feeling groggy and tired, when suddenly the sound of running water in the bathroom made me freeze in place. As well as....muffled groans.
