Nathan's POV

My mind reeled. I stared at Adina, her small body rigid with a newfound resolve. She was offering herself up, a voluntary prisoner, for our safety. It was the last thing I expected her to say. My relief at her change of heart was immense, but it was quickly overshadowed by a gnawing suspicion. Her earlier accusations, her anger, her sudden fear, it all felt out of proportion to what she'd just learned. There had to be something more.
