For the rest of the day, I couldn’t get her words out of my head as her mother was a witch.

I’d watched Adina tremble in my arms as she described what she saw in the temple, the cloaked woman, the truth that had turned her entire world upside down. Her voice had been fragile but clear, carrying a conviction I couldn’t ignore. I wanted to tell myself it was just another illusion from the witch, another trick meant to tear us apart. But deep down, I knew it wasn’t.
