Nathan's POV

I hardly slept that night.

Not because of fear, fear wasn’t something I easily entertained but because Adina lay in my arms, trembling every few hours as if her dreams were tugging at her. Every time she made a small sound of discomfort, I woke instantly, tightening my hold on her, whispering that she was safe.

By morning, she looked exhausted, but she still insisted on going to the hospital with me.

“I want to see Erick,” she murmured quietly. “I need to.”
