I woke up before dawn, the sky still dark, painted in streaks of grey and soft orange. The bed beside me was empty, Adina still asleep, her breathing steady and soft. For a moment, I just stood there, watching her. After everything that had happened, she looked so peaceful now, so untroubled.

But I couldn’t afford to linger. Today wasn’t a day for peace.
