Chapter 439 Show Mercy

Then, Empress Dowager walked to Shuo Ling and asked while staring at him, "Shuo Ling, your father had a good reputation for his loyalty when he was alive. Why did you start a revolt? Aren't you afraid to let your father down?"

"Let him down? I would have if I hadn't taken revenge for him. His Majesty knows well about what he had done," Shuo Ling said and looked at Chushi Youtian at the same time.

Empress Dowager was confused and asked, "What do you mean?"

Getting no reply, Empress Dowager turned to Bai Zhanfei and asked, "General Bai, you once worked for Old Marquis Shuo. Tell me what happened!"

"Your Highness, His Majesty is the one who lets us down," General Bai explained.

Then, he told Empress Dowager what Chushi Youtian did. The latter put on a long face after that. She said, "I didn't know my son had tricked and killed his loyal official. That was unforgivable..."

"Mother, I indeed made a hasty decision. Later, I reflected on it..." Chushi Youtian excused himself.

Before he finished, Shuo Ling interrupted and snorted. "Really? Your Majesty, do you really want me to tell Her Highness all those things you did behind our back?"

"Shuo Ling, you..." said Chushi Youtian who looked at Shuo Ling after hearing what he said.

At this moment, Empress Dowager pounded on the ground with her walking stick and shouted, "Enough!"

Chapter 439 He Wasn't Here to Ask for Opinions!

Turning around and looking at Shuo Ling, Empress Dowager asked, "Shuo Ling, if you still see me as your grandmother, can you show any mercy?"

"Grandmother, this isn't up to me. We have to wait for Zijin to call the shots," Shuo Ling didn't agree to Empress Dowager's request. Because he had promised Yang Zijin to let her decide how to punish Chushi Youtian who hurt her mother before.

After hearing what Shuo Ling said, Empress Dowager slightly frowned and asked, "Zijin?"

"Grandmother, His Majesty also killed Princess Royal," Shuo Ling explained.

Nodding and responding, Empress Dowager then asked Eunuch Liu to take her out of the palace.

Although she was Chushi Youtian's mother, she knew she couldn't defend him.

Shuo Ling walked out of the palace and assigned some tasks to Luo Jin.

Luo Jin took the order and left.

Yang Zijin might get to the capital soon.

Shuo Ling knew that she wanted to take revenge for her mother.

Now, everything was settled. He finally had time to get back at those who once hurt Yang Zijin.

Leaving all things to Bai Zhanfei, Shuo Ling left for Prince Weiyang's palace.

Prince Weiyang was still locked in his room.

He pounded on the door and said, "Open the door. What's going on outside? Open the door!"

But his maids and servants had all fled. His courtyard was empty.

Shuo Ling sneered and walked in. Pulling out his sword, he wielded it to break the lock on the door.

He pushed the door open and walked in.

At the sight of Shuo Ling, Chushi Weiyang looked happy. But his smile froze when he saw the blood on Shuo Ling. "Do you know... What happened?"

"The Crown Prince and Prince Weiming both started a revolt. So did I." Shuo Ling answered.

Chushi Weiyang frowned and asked, "How is everything going now?"

"All rebels have been caught and locked up," Shuo Ling said.

Chushi Weiyang quickly walked to him and asked, "Did you... also start a revolt?"

"Yes!" Shuo Ling nodded.

Chushi Weiyang asked again, "Where is he?"

Although Chushi Youtian wasn't nice to him, he was his father after all. Knowing that many people betrayed Chushi Youtian, Chushi Weiyang couldn't help...

"He's locked up, too." Shuo Ling replied.

Hearing that, Chushi Weiyang looked down and asked, "When will you ascend to the throne?"

"You'll ascend to the throne!" Shuo Ling took a glance at him and said.

The latter's eyes were wide open when he heard that. "Are you serious about that? How can I..."

"You can," Shuo Ling continued.

Then, he added, "Prepare for it and we will enthrone you later."

Shuo Ling was here to tell Chushi Weiyang what to do rather than ask for his opinion.

When he finished, Shuo Ling walked out of the room while Chushi Weiyang stood in his room in disbelief.

Then he quickly ran out and asked, "Is Miss Bai alright?"

"Yes," Shuo Ling answered without looking back.

Hearing that, Chushi Weiyang felt happier than he was when he knew he would ascend to the throne.

Shuo Ling just wanted to take revenge on Chushi Youtian for his father and soldiers. He had made it now. But he didn't want to ascend to the throne because an emperor could be so busy.

Therefore, he wanted Chushi Weiyang to do so. Although Chushi Weiyang was a bit childish, Shuo Ling knew he would be a good ruler later.

After Shuo Ling's soldiers broke into the palace, they found An Ran and his soldiers were fighting against Prince Weiming's soldiers.

An Ran was rather sensible but Shuo Ling didn't appreciate his help.

At present, the most important thing was to please Yang Zijin. He had to solve all problems before she came back in case she got mad at him.

At the thought, Shuo Ling walked faster to his mansion.

After walking into the mansion, Shuo Ling directly headed to the study and wrote a divorce letter.

Then, he headed to An Qin's courtyard.

An Ran felt so contented when he knew that Shuo Ling was heading to An Qin's room.

"My Lord, you finally came back," said An Qin who was surprised by Shuo Ling's visit.

Then, Shuo Ling put down the divorce letter on the table and said, "Pack your things up and go back home with your father. If you do so, I'll let bygones be bygones!"

At the sight of the divorce letter, An Qin felt bitterly disappointed.

She pulled Shuo Ling's coat and asked, "My Lord, did I do anything wrong?"

"No. But my wife won't be happy to see you here," said Shuo Ling who flicked his sleeves and left.

An Qin looked at the divorce letter and cried.

Shuo Ling asked Xiao Mu to tell An Ran about the divorce.

An Ran was shocked. He didn't expect Shuo Ling to do this.

At the thought, An Ran felt aggrieved. When he was about to find Shuo Ling, Xiao Mu told him that Shuo Ling was out and wanted them to move out before dusk!

Xiao Mu was threatening him. Although he was angry, An Ran could do nothing under such circumstances.

After An Qin moved out, Xiao Mu set fire to her courtyard as Shuo Ling required in case Yang Zijin felt sad when seeing it.

In the meantime, Qiao Shu was sitting in her room anxiously. The Crown Prince and Prince Weiming both started a revolt today. But she didn't expect Shuo Ling to meddle in that.

She was happy but also worried. She felt happy because Shuo Ling was the winner but she somehow was restless.

She was afraid that Lan Ruojing would tell Shuo Ling what she did. If so, Shuo Ling would kill her.

As Shuo Ling required, Luo Jin headed out to collect evidence. Then, Shuo Ling could give Yang Zijin a surprise when she was back.

Also, he had sent people to the Blossoming Peach and asked residents there to stay calm and get ready for Yang Zijin's comeback.

The girls there were so happy because Yang Zijin who had been away for a long time would finally come back.

Everybody in the capital was worried. As a result, no customer visited Woman Flower or the Blossoming Peach.

Xian's leg had already recovered. He looked the same as normal people now when he was walking.

Xian asked people to clean the Blossoming Peach and make it dust-free.

Besides, he assumed that Yang Zijin missed Madam Yang very much. Therefore, he asked Wufu to prepare a carriage and pick her and Qixi up in the countryside.

The next day, Yang Zijin and her fellows were close to the capital gate at noon.

Pei Moning who was leading in front frowned when he saw many people standing before the gate. He asked, "What happened? Why are there so many people?"

Hearing that, Yang Zijin pulled back the curtain.

Then, Mo Li answered, "That's Marquis Shuo."

Getting closer to the gate, Yang Zijin looked out of the window and saw that Xian and other people were waving at them.

Shuo Ling was standing in front of them.

Before she arrived at the gate, Yang Zijin already heard of the revolt in the capital. She was quite worried about Shuo Ling at that time.

She was told this morning that the Crown Prince and Prince Weiming both started a revolt. Later, Shuo Ling meddled in and caught the Crown Prince, Prince Weiming, and Chushi Youtian.

Yang Zijin then felt relieved. She didn't know that Shuo Ling had earned much reputation among residents. They didn't even see him as a rebel after he overthrew Chushi Youtian.

When the carriage finally stopped, Yang Zijin pulled back the curtain. Before she got off, Shuo Ling walked fast to her and said, "Put your arms around my neck."

"Ah? Is that inappropriate?" asked Yang Zijin who slightly frowned after hearing what Shuo Ling said. So many people were staring at them...

However, Shuo Ling didn't give her much time to think it over. He ordered, "Hurry up!"

"Fine," Yang Zijin replied and pouted. Then, she put her arms around Shuo Ling's neck.

Shuo Ling walked back to the gate with her into his arms.

Yang Zijin buried her head in Shuo Ling's arms and wished that she had been invisible.

People waiting in front of the gate said together, "Madam, welcome back."

Yang Zijin lifted the corner of her mouth and reached out to greet them. Later, she glanced at Shuo Ling and asked, "What are you doing?"

"I'm showing my love for you," Shuo Ling answered. He carried Yang Zijin and got on a carriage he prepared beforehand.

As for Pei Moning, Uncle Liu, and other people, Shuo Ling had totally ignored them.

Pei Moning shrugged and rode to the Martial Club after telling Jiang Wei.
