I sat nervously next to Emily while facing her mother who sat opposite us. She had a cold glare on her face that said it all.

"Fuck away from my daughter."

My heart was beating rapidly and my throat was getting dry. I was trying the best I could to be as calm as possible.

"Mother stop it." Emily whispered then held my hand in hers. I gave her a quick smile to assure her that I was fine when deep down I wasn't.
